The Flowerbomb is a vehicle for urban beautification and inspiration. A collaboration with Mark Frykman, The Flowerbomb is inspired by the guerrilla gardening movement and the use of "seed bombs" to spread a little beauty in otherwise inaccessible places. In analyzing existing products, we found that most implements of guerrilla gardening were expensive, small-run, sometimes handmade products. We wanted to get the tools of urban beautification and ownership into as many hands as possible, so set about designing a manufacturing process and a new way to spread some sunshine. Using two CNC-machined plates, we can stamp multiple flowerbombs in a fraction of the time that it takes to make one by hand.
