Foxfire is a portable sound-sensitive light array. I made Foxfire v0 ("Rave in a Box") about ten years ago as a senior senior project for high school. Ever since learning more about fabrication, design, and electronics, I've wanted to do it again - but better.

The most recent incarnation of Foxfire (v02) is the most robust and featured version. Each assembly is standalone and features a custom PCB and all custom mechanical components. Initial sound processing is done with a MSGEQ7 chip on board before the detailed effects are handled by software running on an Atmega328p. The light strips are 60 pixel Neopixel strips from Adafruit. The bases are custom concrete stands that were cast in a CNC machined foam mold.
